Basic Fixes

  • Check Network Connection: Ensure a stable and strong internet connection between your devices for effective casting to Android TV.
  • Disable VPN: Temporary VPN deactivation is recommended, as it does not affect content streaming in your region.
  • Update Devices: Keep your Google TV and Android phone updated to eliminate bugs or glitches possibly causing casting issues.

Fix 1: Connect to the Same Wi-Fi Network and Google Account

Make sure both devices are connected to the same Wi-Fi network and are using the same Google account. This can be verified in the Settings menu of your Google TV.

Fix 2: Enable Cast on Your Android TV

If you mistakenly disabled the Chromecast feature on your Google TV, it will not appear for casting from your Android phone.

  1. Step 1: Navigate to Google TV Settings > Apps > See all apps.
  2. Step 2: Expand System Apps and select Chromecast built-in.
  3. Step 3: Choose Enable from the options.

After enabling, try casting your Android phone again to see if your Google TV appears.

Fix 3: Reset Your Google TV

This process will restore all system apps and settings to their defaults. After the reset, sign in again with your Google account and reconnect to the same Wi-Fi network before attempting to cast again.

  1. Open Settings > System > Reset.

Follow the above steps to troubleshoot casting issues on your Google TV successfully.
