Picture this: Your supervisor hands you a lengthy Word document filled with various graphs, charts, and tables that are essential for your report. Instead of manually going through the document, clicking and saving each image one at a time, which can become extremely monotonous, wouldn’t it be ideal to extract all the images at once?
Fortunately, there’s a simple solution. By saving your Word document as an HTML file, you can effortlessly extract all images in one action. Here’s how to do it.
Extracting Images from a Word Document by Saving as HTML
Step 1: Begin by opening the Word document that contains the images you wish to extract.
Step 2: Click on the File menu located in the upper left corner, and find the option labeled Save a Copy on the left side.
Step 3: Select your desired location to save the file. Then, next to the Word Document (*.docx) option, click on the arrow on the far right of the dialog box.
Step 5: Click Save, then open File Explorer to navigate to the location where you saved the HTML file. Instead of a single file, you’ll find a folder bearing the same name as your saved HTML file.
Step 6: Open the folder by double-clicking on it. You will see all the images from your Word document now saved as individual files within this folder.
Relocating Your Extracted Images
With all the images successfully extracted from your Word document, you can now transfer them to a new folder. Simply drag and drop them into your chosen location, or select all images at once using your mouse or by pressing the Ctrl and A keys simultaneously. Alternatively, click on one image, hold down the Ctrl key, and select any additional images you wish to move. Highlighted selections will appear in light blue.
To quickly copy the selected images, press Ctrl and C together. Then, navigate within File Explorer to the folder where you want to save your images. Once you reach your desired location, simply press Ctrl and V to paste the images into that folder.
