Basic Fixes

  • Restart the Amazon Fire TV Stick: Access Fire TV Stick settings, go to ‘My Fire TV’, scroll down, and select Restart.
  • Disable VPN: If you’re using a VPN, open the app and click Disconnect to turn off the active connection, then reload the YouTube TV app.
  • Update or reinstall the YouTube TV app: Go to Appstore, search for the YouTube TV app, and select Update. If that doesn’t work, uninstall and reinstall it from the Fire OS Appstore by navigating to the Gear icon > Applications > Manage Installed Applications.

Fix 1: Force Stop YouTube TV and Reopen

The YouTube TV app may experience glitches. Force-stopping the app can help refresh it and potentially resolve issues.

  1. Navigate to the Gear icon on the Fire OS home screen and open Applications.
  2. Scroll down and select Manage Installed Applications.
  3. Find the YouTube TV app, then select Force Stop.

Fix 2: Clear Cache and Data for the YouTube TV App

A corrupt cache or app data can interfere with the app’s functionality. Clearing them can help resolve these issues.

  1. Open the Applications menu and select Manage Installed Applications.
  2. Scroll down to locate and select YouTube TV.
  3. Choose Clear cache, followed by Clear data.

Fix 3: Check Connected Devices

YouTube TV allows streaming on a maximum of three devices at the same time. Exceeding this limit on connected devices can prevent the app from functioning on your Fire TV Stick.

  1. Open the Google Account page, click on Security in the sidebar, and select Manage all devices under ‘Your Devices’.
  2. Review connected devices, select any unnecessary ones, and click Sign out. After logging out, try accessing the YouTube TV app on your Fire TV Stick again.
