Use the Lasso Tool
Samsung’s One UI 6 has removed the manual selection option for creating custom stickers, but there is an effective workaround. This guide will help you use the Lasso Tool to cut out sections of an image and create custom stickers.
Step-by-Step Instructions
- Open the Image: Launch the Samsung Gallery app and select the photo you want to edit. Tap the Pencil (Edit) icon at the bottom of the screen.
- Select the Lasso Tool: Tap the four-circle icon, then choose the Lasso tool from the menu.
- Manually Select Area: Tap Select manually. Draw around the area you want to convert to a sticker, then tap Next.
- Customize the Border: Adjust the border as desired and tap Done.
- Save as Copy: Tap the three-dot icon, then select Save as copy. This avoids overwriting the original image.
- Create the Sticker: Open the saved image from your Gallery (it will be next to the original). Long-press on the image and select Save as sticker.
Congratulations! You’ve now created a custom sticker that will appear in your sticker collection.
Additional Tip
You can also create stickers directly in WhatsApp. To do this, open the sticker screen in WhatsApp and tap on Create.
Note: While the process is more detailed compared to One UI 5, this solution allows you to customize stickers without needing third-party apps.
